By 2009, the face recognition market will be bringing in
revenues totaling $791.8 million according to a consulting
firm’s forecast.
In its new analysis, World Face Recognition Biometrics
Market, Frost and Sullivan reveals that face
recognition totaled revenues worth $21.5 million in 2002
and is on the verge of a massive expansion. Frost and
Sullivan lead biometrics analyst Prianka Chopra says that
while the industry is still overcoming performance issues
and skepticism, recent technological advances will
encourage face recognition biometrics deployment.
“The passing of new important legislations and
standardization efforts by industry associations have given
a tremendous impetus to the face recognition market
potential,” Chopra says.
