Anixter Inks Distribution Agreement With NetBotz and RLE Technologies
SKOKIE, Ill.
Anixter Inc., a distributor of data communications products, has signed distribution agreements with NetBotz Inc. and RLE Technologies. Both companies manufacture networkable security products. Netbotz manufactures a Web-enabled camera approximately the size of a room thermostat. Netbotz also manufactures monitoring equipment that will allow staff to monitor the environment inside an IT data center. Sensors can record temperature, humidity, vibration and motion, and make that information available over the Internet.
RLE Technologies manufactures the Falcon line of monitoring systems. Products in the line provide leak detection and notification of unauthorized access. The products can connect to alarms, motion detectors, heat detectors and Webcams for remote monitoring. Should an event be triggered, an E-mail is sent to the IT or security manager with a photo of the subject stamped with the date and time.
“If James Bond was an IT manager, he would absolutely have these companies’ products,” says Pete Lockhart, Anixter’s vice president of technology. “Their performance and capabilities are that dramatic, as are their features and benefits.”
