ARINC Inc. has begun installing a network-based surveillance and security system in four city-owned sites in Lawrence, Mass., in an effort to reduce crime and theft, prevent unauthorized entry and protect critical assets.
ARINC, a provider of communications, engineering and integration solutions, is working under subcontract from Andover, Mass.-based CBE Technologies to provide surveillance to municipal properties including the Department of Public Works equipment yard, a city water treatment plant, the Lawrence Public Library and Lawrence City Hall.
Individual sites will be capable of standalone monitoring by using the company’s AIM® technology. A workstation in a new control and data center in downtown Lawrence will have overall control capability, and the system will be connected over the city’s existing enterprise IP network.
“ARINC is extremely pleased to be selected for this important work at Lawrence,” says Tim Ciocco, ARINC director, security systems. “The multiple remote sites are a perfect match for our AIM® security technology.”
The security system installation is expected to be finished in the third quarter of 2009.
