ARMOR HOLDINGS SUBSIDIARY PURCHASES COMPUTER INVESTIGATION SOFTWARE FROM SYDEX
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.
Armor Holdings Inc., through its newly acquired subsidiary, New Technologies Inc. (NTI), has purchased SafeBack Computer Investigation Software from Sydex Inc. of Eugene, Ore. Terms were not disclosed. SafeBack software is a popular computer evidence, mirror-imaging backup utility that thousands of law enforcement computer crime specialists and government agencies around the world rely on. It was developed by Sydex to meet requirements established by the U.S. Treasury Department for computer evidence preservation.
“This purchase is the first technology acquisition made by NTI since it was acquired by Armor Holdings. We will continue to invest, both in computer forensics and computer investigation software utilities, as well as other areas of data and network security,” says Armor Holdings President/CEO Jonathan M. Spiller. Armor Holdings’ ArmorGroup Services division provides security planning and risk management, electronic security systems integration, consulting and training services, as well as intellectual property asset protection, business intelligence and investigative services.
