Arrow Electronics Inc. announces that sales and earnings will set new records in the quarter ended Sept. 30, its third consecutive quarter of record performance. Sales in the third quarter will be in excess of $3.3 billion, and earnings will exceed the preceding quarter’s 84 cents per share (on a diluted basis) by at least 15 percent. “Our core components teams continue to do an outstanding job, with each region experiencing exceptional sales and earnings growth over the prior year,” says Francis M. Scricco, president and CEO. “Our broad line card, geographic reach and customer breadth, along with our ever-increasing mix of supply-chain management and other value-added services, tend to buffer Arrow’s results from the difficulties that may be experienced by any single sector or individual company.”
Arrow Electronics is the world’s largest distributor of electronic components and computer products, with 1999 sales of $9.3 billion. It serves as a supply channel partner for more than 600 suppliers and 175,000 OEMs and commercial customers through more than 225 sales facilities and 19 distribution centers in 38 countries.
