ASIS Names New President

ALEXANDRIA, Va.

ASIS Int’l has its new leader. Shirley Pierini, the vice president of corporate security and safety for Ameriquest Mortgage Corp., has been named as ASIS’ 2004 president and will begin her tenure Jan. 1.

Pierini, based in Orange, Calif., has more than 25 years of experience in corporate security management and law enforcement, including 18 years at ASIS. She replaces Senior Vice President of Professional Services for CAP Index Daniel Kropp, who is completing his one-year term.

In her years at ASIS, Pierini has served positions ranging from chapter chair to serving as vice president in 2003. Pierini, who has a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation, is also a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and a life member of the Southern California Chief Special Agents.

Pierini developed Bank of America’s executive protection program for executives and their families and implemented operational security programs for McCaw Cellular Communications and L.A. Cellular. She conducted threat assessments for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of North America and the CNN building in Los Angeles.
