PHILADELPHIA—Taking place Sept. 10-13 in the City of Brotherly Love, this year’s American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) show will be dominated by issues and topics revolving around the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Aside from a special memorial program remembering Sept. 11 and paying homage to ASIS colleagues who died, the show will include seminars on different aspects of terrorism and airport security.
In all, the four-day show will feature 150 sessions, and will have more than 600 exhibitors. This year’s show will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) program. Technology-driven seminars will include “Modern video covert surveillance solutions” and “Digital video applications for physical security.” Nontechnological topics include background screening in the workplace, how security providers can avoid liability in a civil lawsuit, and what training tells end users about security systems integrators.
