ASIS 2016: Hanwha Multisensor, Fisheye Cameras Lead Products Parade

The former Samsung business shows no signs of slowing down with an array of IP camera offerings.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Hanwha Techwin America continued to establish its brand name at the show, having acquired the business from Samsung earlier this year. Director of Marketing North America Janet Fenner said the video surveillance products manufacturer showed 64 new products at ASIS.

“We try to lead rather than follow the market,” she said. “We have the proven track record and that is the most important thing. In this industry, the quality and reputation of the product is more important than the brand name on it. So sales have not dipped at all during the brand transition, and our offering is really a better fit under Hanwha than it was under Samsung.”

Among the notable items on display at the Hanwha booth were: the PNM-9020V high resolution 180° panoramic multisensor camera with four integral 2-megapixel (MP) sensors launched as part of the company’s new Wisenet P Series. That series’ 4K UHD resolution cameras are available in bullet, dome, vandal dome and pan/tilt/zoom configurations and combine Hanwha’s WiseStream technology and H.265 compression to significantly reduce bandwidth consumption and storage requirements. Attendees also got a first look at the company’s new Wisenet P Series 4K fisheye camera, which features 12MP full resolution and onboard dewarping to produce high-quality images without distortion.

The exhibitor also bowed its Wisenet Q Series cameras that are available in 2MP and 4MP resolution and designed to provide a competitively priced solution for mainstream applications. Finally, Hanwha showcased its Wisenet NVRs designed specifically for the high resolution Wisenet Q Series and 4K UHD Wisenet P Series cameras.
