ASIS 2016: March Networks High Steps Even in September

New offerings include integrator configuration tool, retail RFID solution and high dynamic range cameras.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Video surveillance manufacturer March Networks introduced the addition of the Security Audit tool to its GURU 2.3 smartphone app. The enhancement is designed to help systems integrators evaluate and improve the security of their video installation configurations and provide additional assurance to customers. The tool can, for example, provide guidance on how to make a configuration more secure, such as changing a password that’s been left at the default setting or closing ports that don’t need to be open. Global Leader, Product Management Dan Cremins said the app can also be used to generate express RMA orders.

Cremins and Jeff Corrall, integrations business development manager, also explained the company’s new Searchlight for Retail offering. By combining data from Zebra RFID-tagged items with high-definition surveillance video, Searchlight makes it possible for companies to quickly search events by date, time, brand, product type, serial number or electronic product code (EPC). They can then access the associated video with a single click to see when and how an item entered or left a location.

The final item the pair discussed was March Networks’ new ME4 Series cameras, which incorporate high dynamic range (HDR) to deliver clear video in all lighting conditions, including environments such as banking branches and retail storefronts where parts of the scene are very bright and others very dark. Cremins detailed how HDR exceeds the enhancements provided by the much more prevalent wide dynamic range (WDR).
