AT&T Unveils Global Plans for Home Automation, Security Business

Published: February 22, 2012

DALLASAT&T plans to offer its remote monitoring and automation platform, Digital Life, worldwide. The company has developed the service and technology for international carriers that will develop and sell Web-based home automation security and energy services to clients.

The platform can be sold as an AT&T hosted service or a service hosted by an AT&T carrier customer, CNET reports. It will enable providers to offer consumers devices like wireless sensors and cameras that will communicate with a control center inside the home, managed through a Web-based user interface.

Carriers will be able to customize services by developing a unique graphical user interface (GUI) and extend branding to devices.

“We’ve built a robust platform that equips international service providers with the foundation needed to build a digital life solution for their customers,” Kevin Peterson, senior vice president, Digital Life for AT&T Mobility says. “The platform is flexible, intuitive and scalable, providing service providers with a path into a market of significant growth opportunity.”
