Attack of the Drones: Enrique Iglesias Injured During Concert

Singer Enrique Iglesias was injured after grabbing a drone that was capturing photos of him during one of his concerts in Tijuana, Mexico.

TIJUANA, Mexico – Latin pop singer Enrique Iglesias suffered a bloody injury in an accident involving a drone at one of his concerts.

Iglesias was performing at the Plaza de Toros de Playa on May 30 as part of his world tour when a drone used to capture photos hovered near him.
The 40-year-old singer grabbed the device to give the 12,000-member audience a point of view shot. Some of Iglesias’ fingers were sliced when he grabbed the drone, E! Online reports.

Advisors recommended that he stop the show. However, Iglesias decided to continue playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the concert.

Iglesias was later rushed to the airport, where he was met by an ambulance, before getting on a plane to Los Angeles to see a specialist.

The pop star suffered a fracture that needed to be corrected in addition to the reconstructive surgery, according to Yahoo News. He will need several additional weeks to recover.
