SAN FRANCISCO — August Home announces what it calls its most significant product expansion to date, releasing the August Doorbell Cam Pro, August Smart Lock and August Smart Lock Pro.

The Smart Locks feature DoorSense, an integrated sensor that tells users if their door is open or closed. While previous August Smart Locks could automatically lock after a set time, with DoorSense, the door lock can be set to instantly lock when the door is closed.

The Smart Lock Pro features  simultaneous support for Wi-Fi, HomeKit, Bluetooth and Z-WavePlus. It also integrates with Amazon Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.

The Smart Lock Pro also includes Active Monitoring, a beta of “smarter alerts” for the events that are most important to users. At launch, this will include all alerts for activity at the door including a DoorSense alert notifying the user if their door is left ajar for a set amount of time. New alerts notifying the users about specific activities that happen during a set time frame will be added shortly, according to the company.

The August Doorbell Cam Pro sends users an alert whenever motion is detected in front of the door. In addition to the integrated flood light, the Doorbell Cam Pro includes a new feature called HindSight.

August says HindSight makes video recording more meaningful by adding a few extra seconds of footage to the beginning of a recording, even before motion is detected to ensure that the recording includes the entire motion event, rather than just seeing a person walking away.

The Smart Locks are now available while the Doorbell Cam Pro is available for pre-order, with shipping expected Oct. 10, 2017.
