August Home Smart Locks Now Supported by Amazon Alexa Devices

August Home says it is the first smart lock to be supported by Amazon Echo and other Alexa devices.

SAN FRANCISCO — August Home announced on Thursday that its August Smart Lock will launch on Amazon Alexa-enabled devices. The company bills the August Smart Lock as the first to launch on the device.

“As the first smart lock to support Alexa-enabled devices such as Amazon Echo, we are giving consumers a whole new level of convenience with a hands-free way to control the front door,” says Jason Johnson, CEO of August Home. “Amazon Echo and other Alexa-enabled devices have captivated consumers with the ability to integrate voice into the smart home.

“We share Amazon’s vision of delighting consumers with awesome experiences.”

August Smart Lock users with a 1st generation or 2nd generation lock can use Alexa by enabling it through the Alexa app.
