AvaLAN Wireless Systems, a supplier to the wireless Ethernet market, recently moved to larger corporate offices to accommodate growth of its overall business and an increase in personnel.
AvaLAN Wireless moved its corporate headquarters from Palo Alto to Mountain View, Calif., to a location that doubles its square footage in order to house the growing staff.
Among the recent staff additions, AvaLAN hired security industry veteran Richard Ramm as its national strategic account manager for the physical security market. Lauren Hastings joined as its new marketing manager.
Announcing the company has doubled its sales in 2007 compared to the same period last year, Ray Shilling, vice president of marketing, says the company’s move to the larger facility will accommodate additional staff and better serve its customers and OEM partners.
In another move, the company recently left its former manufacturing contractor in Denver to work with a larger contract manufacturer in Arizona. The new business partner has the capacity to build several thousand units a month, compared with 500 units previously, according to Shilling.
AvaLAN Wireless’s long-range wireless Ethernet bridge devices enable surveillance cameras, digital signage, biometric scanners, access control and industrial networking devices to operate wirelessly, replacing costly wiring.
