PLANO, Texas — A trip to Dallas for the 63rd Annual ASIS Int’l Seminar & Exhibits afforded me the opportunity to take Avigilon up on an invitation to tour its 50,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in nearby Plano.
The state-of-the-art facility opened in 2015 and enables U.S.-based customers to order and receive Avigilon’s solutions quickly and efficiently. Moreover, the facility is able to produce the company’s entire product line including security cameras, network appliances and access control hardware. In this regard, quality control also plays a huge factor in having a locally-based manufacturing presence.
Check out this image gallery — most pics were provided by Avigilon as I was not permitted to shoot on the manufacturing floor — for facts, figures and various sights from the production process.
Back on the show floor at ASIS, along with its latest wares, the company touted its soon-to-be released Avigilon Blue. This is a Cloud-based platform for security and surveillance applications that offers installing security contractors a new recurring monthly revenue (RMR) model. The subscription-based program allows partners to remotely support and service sites. Feature sets include smart notifications, system upgrades, along with new services pushed directly from the Cloud.
