AXCESS Inc. announces it has formed a new marketing group in response to an expected increase in demand as a result of the Homeland Security Initiative. The marketing effort will promote a variety of solutions for airport security using network-based technology for video surveillance, access control and asset protection. The marketing group will incorporate radio frequency identification (RFID) and streaming video products from AXCESS and wireless streaming video products of Ivex Corp., which AXCESS is acquiring.

The network-based applications will also support such functions as automatic intrusion detection, facial recognition and biometric access control. AXCESS products are currently in use at many airports around the world. Applications in use include: hands-free access control for airport employees; long-range RFID; integrated video surveillance and automatic identification RFID tags for fuel truck control and monitoring; remote streaming video and alarm-based digital video recording for terminal and concourse businesses; digital video recording of import/export warehouses; and wireless delivery of live and recorded surveillance video to law enforcement officials and security professionals.

“AXCESS has the technology portfolio and channel partners in place to quickly increase the necessary security in airports and the other Homeland Security industries, including telecommunications, oil and gas, railroad, information technology and water systems,” says Allan Griebenow, president and CEO of AXCESS.
