Axis Secures Little League Baseball World Series for 10th Consecutive Year

This year’s security system was created in partnership with Honeywell, Milestone Systems, BriefCam, Ruckus Networks and Rasilient Systems.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The 73rd Annual Little League Baseball World Series (LLBWS) marks the 10th consecutive year the even has been secured by Axis Communications.

The 10-day baseball tournament, which kicked off Aug. 15, collaborated with Axis to help provide safety and security measures for the players, coaches and fans.

Over the years, the security system was designed to enable a comprehensive, integrated, and flexible security solution used by multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies, according to the company.

Throughout the partnership, Little League has leveraged a variety of Axis products, including thermal, panoramic, p/t/z, fixed box and fixed dome network cameras. They have also used Axis’ radar technology as well as perimeter detection analytics.

“Each year we look forward to working with Little League Baseball and Softball and helping them advance their security system,” says Robert Muehlbauer, senior manager, business development partner ecosystem, Axis Communications. “Over the years our relationship has grown and ten years later Axis is helping to protect South Williamsport, Pa. Little League Baseball and Softball facilities, parking lots, visitor and player entrances/exits, and baseball fields. This year’s security system was created in partnership with Honeywell, Milestone Systems, BriefCam, Ruckus Networks, an ARRIS company, and Rasilient Systems.

Along with the safety and well-being of all the players, coaches, volunteers and fans at the World Series, one of the main uses of the system is to reunite lost parents when their children forgets where their parents are sitting, according to the company. The security system reunites families through video surveillance and specialized analytics.
