NEW YORK — Axis Communications will offer a certification program to help systems integrators demonstrate their competence and skills in the area of IP video surveillance, the company announced at ISC Solutions on Wednesday.
The Axis Certification Program will be offered through external, third-party certification test centers managed by Prometric, a global provider of testing and assessment services.
To become certified, individuals need to pass an advanced, two-hour test that proves they are well-versed in the latest network video technologies, solutions, products and best-practice techniques, according to the company.
Once integrators pass the exam, they can use the Axis Certified Professional global stamp to promote themselves.
To help prepare for the exam participants can entroll in the Axis Communications’ Academy, which offers a variety of classroom and Web-based trainings, along with other relevant tutorials and guides.
“We’ve made great strides through our academy programs, PR and marketing efforts and day-to-day conversations to educate the entire security industry on the benefits and uses of network video,” says Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications. “As the scales tip from analog to IP technology, the Axis Certified Professional stamp will be a sought after designation that proves you have the know-how to install and maintain a proper network surveillance system.”
Priced at $150, the certification program will be available beginning in January. The certification is valid for 24 months, according to Axis.
