Axis Communications Awarded for Global Sustainability Achievement

The award recognizes Axis' efforts to minimize its environmental impact, promote a healthy working environment, fight corruption and prevent human rights breaches.

CHELMSFORD, Mass. – Axis Communications has received special recognition in the Sustainability Awards program, which is administered by the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) and honors individuals, teams and organizations who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice or overall mission.

BIG honored Axis with the 2016 Sustainability Leadership Award for its efforts in promoting environmental stewardship in all business processes throughout the entire value chain. In a news release, Axis says it is taking long-term responsibility by thinking big in the areas of business conduct and social and environmental responsibility.

Axis conducts sustainable business practices through its involvement with United Nations Global Compact, an initiative to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation. The company is also involved with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an international independent standards organization that helps businesses, governments and other organizations understand and communicate their impacts on issues such as climate change, human rights and corruption.
