Baltimore County Police Chief to Speak at ESX
BALTIMORE
Baltimore County Police Chief James Johnson will be a featured speaker at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) Industry Icebreaker luncheon on June 23 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
During his speech, Chief Johnson will explain his motivation for advocating legislation that encouraged broader deployment of video surveillance in Baltimore County shopping centers and detail his satisfaction with the program’s results to date. He will also discuss ways to foster collaboration between public safety and private security.
Chief Johnson is a 30-year veteran with the Baltimore County Police Department. He holds the distinction as being one of only two people in the history of the agency who has worn every badge from cadet to chief. He has been honored with various awards and citations, including the Silver Star, the department’s second highest award.
“ESX is honored to have Chief Johnson’s participation at the event. The Chief’s experience and understanding of the importance for expanding the use of video surveillance and increased collaboration between private security and law enforcement provide lessons we can all learn and apply for the public good in other locations,” says George De Marco, the ESX Expo chair.
The luncheon will also feature the announcement of the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) William N. Moody Award, and the First Line of Defense Award presented by the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA).
