EXTON, Pa. — IP surveillance product provider Basler Vision Technologies has joined Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) as a user member.
The company has started developing ONVIF-compatible products, according to a press release. Basler’s goal is to aid the move from analog to digital camera technology by joining the forum.
“We have always supported open standards to provide flexible applications,” Basler Product Manager Gerrit Schreiber says. “We place great emphasis on compatibility of our products with our technology partners’ products. We regard ONVIF as the right basis for this.”
Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corp started ONVIF in 2008. The group’s goal is to ease the integration of network security products with a global standard. It currently has more than 340 member companies and more than 1,100 ONVIF-compliant products on the market.
