Bates Security Acquires ‘Friendly Competitor’ Kentucky Alarm Services

Bates Security will add more than 1,500 customers as a result of the acquisition.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bates Security announced on Tuesday it has acquired Kentucky Alarm Services from Ken and Sandy Duff. Bates Security described the acquisition as a “perfect match” as both family-owned companies are based in Lexington, Ky.

With the acquisition, Bates Security will be adding more than 1,500 customers to its customer base.

“We are extremely excited that we have been entrusted by Ken and Sandy Duff to continue providing service to their customers,” Bates Security General Manager Jeremy Bates said. “They have built a great business and with them being right here in Lexington with us, our businesses were a perfect fit for each other.”

Bates Security was named a runner-up for SSI‘s 2015 Installer of the Year program

Several Kentucky Alarm employees will also join Bates Security.

Bates Security and Kentucky Alarm have been “friendly competitors” for more than 30 years.
