PACHECO, Calif – Bay Alarm Medical, a provider of home medical alert systems, has introduced a new GPS-equipped mobile medical alert system that uses the AT&T cellular network. The GPS Mobile Help Button offers GPS tracking and one-button calling to the company’s monitoring center, based here.
Bay Alarm Medical, operated by long-time residential/commercial security provider Bay Alarm, is marketing the system with flexible monitoring plans with monthly, quarterly and annual options.
“This new option comes in response to customer requests,” explains Alan Wu, Bay Alarm Medical’s marketing manager. “Customers have asked for it in the past, but we waited until we had full confidence in the technology. It was important to us to offer a system that can transmit your precise location, since many of the GPS models on the market don’t do that. They can only predict your general area.”
The GPS Mobile Help Button system works for up to four days on a single charge and is water-resistant. The lightweight unit is comfortable to wear on a lanyard or clipped to a pocket, according to the company.
Wu says the system meets the demands for people without landlines and who live a more active lifestyle. The unit is also useful for a number of applications in business settings and outdoors. Security guards, for example, often work alone and patrol multiple locations. Other uses include people who regularly jog or exercise alone outside, and college students on campus who are often out late walking between buildings.
“Our GPS Mobile Help Button system isn’t just for people who might have falls or disabilities. It can be beneficial for anyone who wants a little extra security then they’re on the go or away from home for long periods of time,” says Wu.
