BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — BCDVideo, a provider of IP video storage solutions, has signed OEM agreement with Dell EMC. The collaboration enhances BCDVideo’s product portfolio with the inclusion of end-to-end solutions featuring Dell EMC server, storage and networking platforms, along with Dell commercial client products, according to an announcement.
BCDVideo had previously been an OEM partner of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), providing enterprise-level storage and networking technology to installing security contractors. The new relationship will allow BCDVideo to take advantage of Dell EMC solutions for the small- and medium-sized surveillance applications as well.
“Security integrators and their customers are looking for end-to-end solutions that feature integrated technologies throughout the IT stack,” says Ron Pugh, vice president and general manager for the Americas, Dell EMC OEM Solutions. “Both Dell and BCDVideo have each made significant investments that line up extremely well to take on the tremendous opportunities in the IP video security market. We’re excited about collaborating with BCDVideo in delivering these security solutions.”
The joint announcement cites statistics by IHS Markit that show the global enterprise and IP storage market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.2% between 2016 and 2021; however, the need for high-capacity storage for high-resolution images has been a restraint in the overall market growth.
With the declining cost of IP cameras enabling end-users to easily shift from traditional analog to IP-based systems, security integrator demand for video storage has never been greater, the company’s state.
“Our vision is to provide security integrators around the world access to the state-of-the-art IP video recording and storage solutions they demand,” says BCDVideo CEO Jeff Burgess. “This new collaboration with Dell EMC intensifies our product portfolio.”
