Belden Acquires Tripwire to Address Cybersecurity
Belden, a maker of networking and cable products, plans to acquire cybersecurity firm Tripwire for $710 million.
ST. LOUIS – Belden Inc., a manufacturer of networking, connectivity, and cable products, has announced that it plans to acquire Portland, Ore.-based security software company Tripwire Inc., for $710 million.
By acquiring Tripwire, Belden is seeking to help companies deliver cybersecurity solutions across industrial and broadcast markets, Reuters reports.

In September, the two companies partnered to improve infrastructure cybersecurity in manufacturing organizations, Associated Press reports.
Belden said the deal will add 65 cents per share to its adjusted income from continuing operations for 2015.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2015.
