The Allied Defense Group’s Belgium-based security firm, The VSK Group, acquired Control Monitor Systems (CMS), an access control company in California. The acquisition of CMS provides VSK with an opportunity to enter the American electronic security market. In addition to CMS’ current customer base, CMS will modify VSK’s Belgian products and sell them in America.
Founded in 1988, CMS sells its products through a network of installers. Each installer is required to complete specialized training from the company because of the unique nature of the products. Approximately 85 percent of CMS products are sold to the microchip industry.
“The VSK Group has been looking for a U.S. platform for the past few years and we believe CMS is the right fit,” said Major General (Ret.) John G. Meyer Jr., president and CEO of The Allied Defense Group, in a statement. “CMS is operationally structured similar to VSK, with an established network of regional installation companies who are comfortable with product-specific training, and who deal with high-end customers.”
