A Bosch ceiling mount motion detector is being credited for recently assisting Jade Alarm Co. and local authorities in capturing an intruder at the Whatsoever Community Center in Kansas City.

At the family center, the intruder attempted to evade first floor perimeter security by climbing an exterior wall and entering the facility on the second floor. The Bosch DS9370 Series detector then sensed movement on the second floor and set off an alarm to the Bosch control panel securing the premises. Local law enforcement personnel were then quickly notified and dispatched to the center by Bosch-certified Security Dealer Jade Alarm Co., the system installer and central monitoring station.

Since the response and detection of the break-in were so swift, authorities were able to reach the premise just as the burglar was exiting. The trespasser then reentered the building and attempted to conceal himself in the ceiling after which police found and arrested him.

“Bosch detectors deliver extremely reliable catch performance, enabling our central station to provide an unsurpassed level of service to our customers,” says Joseph Pfefer, president, Jade Alarm Co. “This alarm event is just one instance where the technology’s flawless operation has helped us protect our customers’ facilities and assets.”
