Bosch Security Systems announces Christopher Gerace, who has served as acting president since Shamus Hurley left the post in July, has been named permanent successor to the position.
Gerace was serving as chief accounting officer of Detection Systems when the company was acquired by Bosch in 2001. He was then promoted to CFO for the Americas region. During the past 10 years, Gerace has played a central role in the global expansion of Detection Systems and successfully merging the company and Philips CSI into Bosch Security Systems. His prior responsibilities included the daily operations of the Intrusion Business Unit.
As president, Gerace continues to coordinate overall business activities in the Americas.
It was also announced that Jeremy Hockham, previously managing director of Bosch Security System’s U.K. operations, will become leader of the Regional Sales Organization (RSO) Americas.
“With our combined experience in the security market and general management, this expanded leadership team in the Americas is well suited to increase Bosch’s competitiveness in this region and meet our customers’ demanding requirements for quality products and superior levels of support,” Gerace says.
Hockham joined Bosch in 2005. In that time he has been credited for driving significant growth for Bosch in the United Kingdom. He will relocate to U.S. headquarters in Fairport, N.Y., to direct the sales, support, customer service and marketing organizations in North and South America.
“I am excited about the opportunity to lead the experienced sales organization for Bosch in the Americas,” Hockham says. “Our unique ownership structure enables us to make an unparalleled investment in product development, which provides tangible benefits to installers and end users alike. This strength in development combined with our focus on customer service excellence will help us drive long term growth for our partners and our business.”
Prior to joining Bosch, Hockham led Honeywell International’s security products business with responsibility for Europe and Asia. He has 17 years of general management experience and is a member of several international security industry associations.
Gerace and Hockham will report to Bosch Security Systems’ global headquarters in Ottobrunn, Germany.
