Bosch Security Gives Back to the Community in More Ways Than One
FAIRPORT, N.Y.
Recently, Bosch Security employees laced up their running shoes and took part in Rochester, N.Y.’s JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge. The Bosch team was one of 362 companies that competed in the event. Bosch donated $880 and the entire event raised $22,500 for local charities.
“This was my 9th corporate challenge with Bosch. Our team started with about 15 people and it has grown every year,” says Jeff Scott, Bosch Security A&E Specification Tools Specialist. “One of the best parts of the event is that you don’t have to be a runner to participate. We have a cookout afterwards that’s a nice social event for the employees. It’s definitely something to look forward to.”
Bosch Security employees also recently contributed to the 2005 Greater Rochester United Way/Red Cross Campaign. Campaign coordinator Julie Terrell joined a few co-workers to bake shamrock cookies, which they sold at work the next day. She also organized a 50/50 raffle to benefit the campaign.
Bosch management, led by Executive Sponsor Shamus Hurley, participated in the Pacesetter Campaign for the first time and raised nearly $12,000. Bosch’s total contribution was $30,249, nearly 50-percent more than last year. In total, the 2005 Greater Rochester United Way/Red Cross campaign raised more than $35 million.
Turning its charitable effort to America’s troops overseas, Bosch Security sent its first “Gift from the Heart” package to American troops in Iraq.
