MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada — Camden Door Controls, a leading provider of door activation, control and locking products, announces the release of a mobile-ready reader based on RFID technology that combines Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and contactless smartcard technologies.

The CV-7600 Series reader is said to be capable of reading data stored on a contactless smartcard credential via high frequency. In addition, the reader can also read data from a mobile credential stored in a smartphone’s wallet app via BLE technology — without physical contact — and then pass the data obtained to the physical access control system.

The CV-7600 is also compatible with MIFARE proximity cards and fobs. This feature allows system managers the ability to assign the best/preferred type of credential for each system user, according to Camden’s David Price, vice president of communications and corporate development.

“The CV-7600 Bluetooth-enabled mobile readers are an ideal choice for access control system users that would prefer to use their smartphone instead of a card or fob credential,” says Price. “We’re proud to add this Bluetooth enabled reader to our extensive line of indoor and outdoor access control system readers.”
