Campus Safety 2025 Director of the Year Nomination Deadline Extended Through Dec. 18

Campus Safety's Director of the Year awards program honors the best security, public safety and emergency management executives.

Campus Safety is now accepting nominations for its 18th annual Director of the Year program.

If you know a hospital, school, or university campus police chief, director of public safety and security, emergency manager, or another administrator responsible for campus protection who surpasses the call of duty with their outstanding leadership skills, inventiveness, and selflessness, you should submit their nomination to SSI’s sister publication! There is no cost to enter.

The winners of this award will receive:

  • Special editorial coverage on CampusSafetyMagazine.com
  • Recognition in the campus public safety, security and emergency management community
  • Free admission to the Director of the Year awards ceremony at the 2025 Campus Safety Conference
  • Free admission to the 2025 Campus Safety Conference, as well as two nights at the conference hotel
  • A custom trophy

How to Win a Campus Safety Director of the Year Award

For tips on how to write a winning nomination, read THIS ARTICLE. In it, judges from previous years discuss what they look for when they review submissions by Director of the Year nominees, as well as the common mistakes they’ve seen in past nominations.

Additionally, here are some basic steps that will help make your 2025 Campus Safety Director of the Year award nomination more compelling to the judges:

  1. Clearly describe in a reasonable amount of detail the accomplishments of your nominee (submissions should be no more than 15 pages in length)
  2. Provide specific examples that demonstrate your nominee’s achievements
  3. Whenever possible, provide quantifiable data as to why your nominee deserves to win
  4. Get your materials in on time (nominations are due Dec. 18), including endorsements from other administrators and employees.
