Canadian Technology Firm Phybridge Purchases NVT
Toronto-based IP transmission provider has acquired NVT, an IP and PoE transmission products supplier, with the goal of improving solutions in the security market.
MENLO PARK, Calif. – Phybridge, an IP transmission products provider, has announced its plans to purchase IP and PoE transmission products provider NVT.
The deal will allow NVT to grow in the IP market, according to Phybridge CEO John Croce.
“Phybridge’s innovative solutions will allow NVT to continue its existing dominance in the analog market and carry it to the IP world,” he says.
The firm’s technology addresses the communications and security market needs for long reach PoE and Ethernet over new or legacy coax and UTP cable. The switches developed by the company enable system migration from traditional CCTV and telephone systems to IP-based technology.
Phybridge is credited as being the first company to introduce switch technology that delivers Ethernet and PoE over a single pair of wire, with four times the transmission distance of traditional Ethernet.
With more than 400,000 global users, Phybridge switches are recognized and deployed by many organizations including Cisco, Avaya and Mitel.
Based in Toronto, Phybridge has operations San Francisco, London and Singapore.
