FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — SSI sister publication Campus Safety has announced the cancelation of its 2021 Campus Safety Conferences: Campus Safety West, which was scheduled for June 14-16 in Las Vegas, and Campus Safety East, which was to take place July 11-13 in Bethesda, Md.

The decision was made “after closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and speaking at length with its community of campus safety professionals at schools, colleges and universities,” according to the announcement.

Campus Safety Conference Texas will be held July 21-23 at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio.

Current state travel restrictions across the country, as well as those imposed by individual schools and universities, have made it impossible to effectively execute in-person Campus Safety Conferences in mid-June and early July. This is due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, including local government restrictions of 50% capacity or less for in-person events and maintaining 6 feet of social distance at all times; restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by the states of Nevada and Maryland and other government and public health authorities; and the various travel restrictions affecting attendees and participating companies.

We appreciate your continued patience and are committed to providing the entire Campus Safety community with the connection, learning and engagement they are accustomed to while ensuring the safety for all.

For any concerns or additional information, please reach out Campus Safety Conference Director Amy Reddington at [email protected] or (774) 505-8033.

While we are disappointed to have to cancel two of our in-person events, please watch for exciting news coming soon on our partnership with EDspaces, an educational facilities conference that connects key stakeholders who design, build, equip and manage learning environments with manufacturers, distributors and service providers. The event, taking place this November 3-5 in Pittsburgh, will offer education and product evaluation opportunities to the Campus Safety audience. We deeply value your ongoing loyalty to Campus Safety and thank you in advance for your understanding.

Sincerely,

The Campus Safety Team

The publication will host its annual Campus Safety Online Summit on Dec. 8-9. For more information, go here.
