Carolina Advanced Digital Fetes Third Decade as IT, Security Provider

John Jabbusch started the company in the basement of his Siler City, N.C., home in 1985.

CARY, N.C. – Carolina Advanced Digital, a national provider of technology infrastructure and security solutions, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Family owned and operated since 1985, the company is based here with offices and resources around North Carolina, Florida and Texas.

John Jabbusch started the company in the basement of his Siler City, N.C., home. Today the company provides engineering services and products to government, education, health care and commercial clients, including Fortune 100 and 500 companies, Department of Defense and civilian agencies.

Jabbusch, who serves as chief engineer and president, says he has always had a strong interest in technology. While attending the Univ. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his first project was automating a mill feed with a custom control panel that significantly increased production for a local feed mill. After college, he joined the U.S. Navy, in which he served in Naval Intelligence (NIPS) centers, and where he met his wife and now business partner, Susan.

Carolina Advanced Digital currently has numerous government contracts and holds the highest tier of partnership with key manufacturers such as HP, Dell, Barracuda Networks and Juniper Networks. Current projects include implementing county-wide networks for local governments, encrypting sensitive data for federal agencies and designing full turnkey networking solutions for community colleges.

Carolina Advanced Digital’s core objective is to help clients by creating mission-focused solutions, focusing on professional services offerings and selecting products for practical functionality. The company’s principals employ more than 60 years of combined professional IT industry experience.

“We are here for our customers – plain and simple,” Jabbusch says.

According to the company, these years of experience have enabled Carolina Advanced Digital to develop methods and highly detailed procedures that are employed in every phase of the service operation: discovery, planning, scoping, design, implementation, maintenance and execution.

The company will hold a 30th anniversary celebration on May 6 at the IT Hot Topics Conference, an annual event at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. The event began as a technical user group in 2002 before blossoming in to a full-featured conference with internationally recognized speakers, trainings and technical content. This will be the 13th year that Carolina Advanced Digital has hosted the conference.
