TACOMA, Wash. – A home surveillance system captured a brave resident standing up to a suspected car prowler.
Adam Ingram was unloading groceries in his home around 10 p.m. on July 28. When Ingram went back outside, he saw a man inside his car, KOMO News reports.
Surveillance video from another home shows Ingram chasing the man, as the suspect sprinted away from the scene.

The video also shows Ingram holding the suspect by the hair, pulling him back to where the man was first spotted. A neighbor then contacted the police.
The South Tacoma neighborhood has recently seen a spike in car prowls. Neighbors said they saw the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Alex Leeper, casing around their vehicles two weeks prior to the incident.
Leeper has three felony drug convictions, according to state records. He was given a citation for possession of stolen property, a police spokesman said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in municipal court on Aug. 6
