Digital imaging system developer Pixim says three security camera manufacturers have started to produce security cameras based on its Digital Pixel System™ (DPS) technology. Pelco, JVC, and Baxall are using the technology, which Pixim says provides “dramatically” improved image quality over a higher dynamic range.
The DPS technology converts images into digital format immediately at the point of capture. “Cameras built with Pixim’s DPS technology are the first to use true digital pixels to provide optimized images in any lighting environment and at an affordable price, ultimately enhancing the performance of next generation applications and enabling even greater levels of security to end-users,” says Pixim President and CEO Elie Antoun.
The cameras using DPS technology are Pelco’s 5100 series SIMD cameras, the TK-WD310U from JVC and the Hyper-D from Baxall.
