CCTV Imports Donates Surveillance System After Mayor Is Attacked

COVINGTON, La.
Published: July 12, 2006

CCTV Imports, a manufacturer of CCTV equipment, recently donated a surveillance system to the mayor of Madisonville, La. for installation at the Baddeaux’s Restaurant after he was attacked in a dimly lit area of the facility in early June. Because Madisonville is such a quiet, safe community, there were no video cameras present in the restaurant at the time of the attack.

Lucky for all involved that a security surveillance camera from a neighboring business was able to catch the suspect’s vehicle on videotape. When the two assailants were shown the video, both confessed to the crime. One of the attackers told authorities that the duo intended to kill the 71-year-old mayor.

The security system donated by CCTV Imports includes the firm’s latest infrared bullet cameras.

“As a part of this community, we felt compelled to do what we can to ensure that this would not happen again,” asserts Kevin Lazaroe, owner of CCTV Imports.
