CCTV System Foils 9/11 Memorial Vandal
NAPERVILLE, Ill.
A recently installed video surveillance system helped foil a string of vandalism to a 9/11 memorial in a Chicago suburb. A 16-year-old teen has been found guilty of tagging the memorial in Naperville, Ill., with a marking pen.
UPI reports Naperville leaders installed a $12,000 CCTV system last year after the 11-foot-tall monument that includes a girder for the World Trade Center was defaced twice.
The unnamed teen was ordered to pay $354 restitution and perform community service.
