Centex HomeTeam Security, a subsidiary of Centex HomeTeam Services, announces the sale of its home security sales and installation operations. The sale covers 12 branches in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico and Texas. The sale price has not been disclosed. The company has decided to eliminate account acquisition in favor of the home services operation, that the company says has “more appealing capital and competitive dynamics,” according to a release. Centex Home Team plans to expand its pest management and chemical lawn care businesses and evaluate other possible home services operations. The sale does not include Centex HomeTeam Security’s monitoring center and related functions located in Dallas. Centex plans to continue to offer monitoring services while pursuing new wholesale accounts. The sale includes 11 offices of HomeTeam Security in San Antonio and Houson to Ranger American Security and one office to Prewire of El Paso Inc., a Ranger Direct dealer. Centex HomeTeam Services provides pest management, termite treatment, lawn and landscape care and residential alarm monitoring services through its subsidiary businesses.
