An alarm monitoring company is adding GPS vehicle tracking and monitoring to its services. Williamstown, N.J.-based C.O.P.S. Monitoring has unveiled its “COP-A-TRAK” service that will allow commercial and residential customers to view vehicle location, trip history and other tracking features in real-time on the Internet.

“Not only will it add to a dealer’s recurring revenue from their current customer base, it will get their foot in the doors of new clients,” says C.O.P.S. Monitoring President James McMullen.

The system works through a beacon that is placed under a vehicle’s dashboard. The vehicle is then tracked via GPS satellites through a cellular link to the tracking system.

In the case of residential clients, COP-A-TRAK will be an instant aid at getting a stolen vehicle back, as a customer can always see where their vehicle is with tracking that is updated every 15 seconds. Commercial customers will be able to efficiently track vehicles driven by employees and receive instant notification by E-mail or cell phone of when an employee is speeding or veering off the appointed rounds.
