Central Electronic Security (CES), an alarm and monitoring company, announces the acquisition of ABC Security, a consulting, planning and design engineering firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CES President David Balestrery purchased CES in 2004 after cutting his teeth on the financial side of the security business and providing capital to alarm companies. He manages the operational side of CES and has made several acquisitions in the Chicago area, including Wheeling, Ill.-based ABC Security.
Former ABC Security President Jerry Robinson will become COO of CES and is expected to be a significant stockholder in the company.
The transaction was completed through Ron Davis, managing partner of Davis Marketing Group (GrayBeardsRus). Davis also pens SSI‘s “What’s the Big Idea?” column. This is the third transaction Davis has put together with CES in the last year.
“We’ve taken ABC in to a new horizon in the electronic security industry, and have brought it as far as we can go without raising significant amounts of additional capital,” says Balestrery. “By joining forces with CES, we’ve accomplished all of our goals and look forward to a continuation of the company’s growth in the Chicago area.”
