Exports of home security products from mainland China and Hong Kong reached $42.9 million according to a survey of companies in that region conducted by Irish research firm Research and Markets. In addition, Taiwanese and South Korean home security makers generated more than 80 percent of their revenue by exporting $19.5 million and $15.2 million in products that same year.
A large chunk of those countries’ home security products – 29.5 percent – were exported to North America.
The survey, which was compiled after interviewing 48 home security product makers in those regions, also found that more than half of those companies interviewed believe that prices for intruder alarm components will increase between 5 and 15 percent.
