CIA Security Acquires Longtime Competitor

LONG GROVE, Ill.
Published: November 1, 2006

CIA Security President John Lombardi announces the company has acquired Apa Security, headed by Ralph Apa. Both men are longtime veterans of the alarm industry and were direct competitors in the Hudson Valley area, which includes Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Commenting on the sale of his company, Apa says “The time was right to pursue other interests after having spent 30 years in the alarm industry.”

Ron Davis, managing partner of Davis Marketing Group, who represented the seller, handled the acquisition.

“When an opportunity to acquire 2,200 accounts presents itself, it is unusual,” says Davis. “In this case, John Lombardi recognized it, recognized the quality of the accounts that Apa had worked over 30 years to collect and acted immediately.”
