VERO BEACH, Fla.—Recently at a Sebastian City Council meeting, residents voiced their outrage over a potential $30 annual permit fee. In response, the council decided to readopt the current permit fee of $10. Citizens also expressed their concerns regarding Y2K and how it might affect their security systems.
Sebastian Police Officer Paul Graves reassured residents that it was unlikely alarm systems would go haywire on the first of the year. Trying to relieve citizens’ fears, Graves explained that since the police department is Y2K compliant, he did not anticipate anything out of the ordinary.
