SAN DIEGO — Wholesale distributor CLARK Security Products wrapped up its nationwide equipment drive in August for Pitch In For Baseball. The drive brought in more than 1,000 balls, 150 bats, 200 gloves, 61 helmets, 40 equipment bags and an array of jerseys, cleats, batting gloves and catchers’ gear. All the equipment is new or gently used.
Pitch In For Baseball is a non-profit foundation that provides baseball equipment to kids around the world who don’t have any yet want to play the game.
The drive started in early July and came to a close on Aug. 28, when 12 branches hosted barbecues and brought suppliers, customers and employees to Pitch In, where the price of admission was a donation of equipment.
“We are blown away by the success of our equipment drive,” said Jay Heffernan, National VP of Sales for Clark.
