CNL, a provider of physical security information management (PSIM) software, and Pelco have struck an integration deal that will lead to more open sharing of development tools for next-generation video and security systems.
CNL has integrated several Pelco video products into its PSIM platform, IPSecurityCenter. The strategic partnership will see CNL integrating with other leading products from Pelco and will allow further sharing of SDKs, DDKs and APIs.
The two companies “have a shared view of distributed intelligence for physical security, a move away from proprietary technology, which has long been a limiting factor in truly collaborative physical security operations,” according to a joint statement.
With its Partner First Program, Pelco security partners can develop security technologies within the company’s ecosystem.
“We see this security enabling technology as a way of allowing physical security to engage with wider business operations,” says Stephane Lantoine, Pelco’s API business manager EMEA.
The IPSecurityCenter platform is aimed at bridging the gap between physical security and IT. It creates network-centric, connected solutions that allow distributed video, audio or data without proprietary restrictions.
“The use of IPSecurityCenter will allow users of Pelco’s products to integrate with other security systems to form a complete security management system,” according to Matthew Kushner, CNL’s president of the Americas. “It also allows further future integration possibilities with other business systems, such as BMS, HR and logistics.”
