Codeless System Eliminates False Alarms by Eliminating Delays

Published: July 31, 2006

The FREEDOM by NAPCO Security Systems Inc. of Amityville, N.Y., is the first code-free alarm system that relies on the locking and unlocking of a door to determine the armed and unarmed state of the system. The FREEDOM fights false alarms by eliminating the traditional exit and entry delays that so often result in unwanted alarm activations and subsequent fines.

The NAPCO FREEDOM alarm system, which won the “Product Achievement Award for Wireless” from the Security Industry Association (SIA), uses a wireless transmitter for lock, front door contact and lock sensor. Because the system is wireless, installation time is greatly reduced.  A four-function keypad provides alphanumeric feedback in English.
