Comm Group, Greater Alarm Take Top Prizes at SAMMYs
LAS VEGAS
The COMM Group of Pittsburgh and Greater Alarm of Irvine,
Calif., were the big winners at Security Sales &
Integration‘s 9th annual Sales and Marketing (SAMMY)
Awards gala. The two contractors won the grand prize awards
in the March 30 ceremony that filled one of the banquet
halls of the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.
The COMM Group took the Commercial/Industrial Installation
of the Year prize, while Greater Alarm won for Integrated
Residential Installation of the Year. All-Guard Systems of
Hayward, Calif., and Pittsburgh’s Guardian Protection
Services each won two SAMMYs.
Preceding the SAMMY’s, SSI honored the HREF=t_hof.cfm >first 25 entrants into its Hall of Fame
with marble plaques. Many of the hall-of-famers were there
in person, including industry leaders Lessing Gold, Ron
Spiller, Dick Soloway, Wade Moose and Charlie Pierce. Steve
Houk, son of recently
deceased “father of CCTV” Victor Houk, accepted an
award in his honor.
