ASG Acquires Houston-Based Monitoring Firm for $1.5 Million
A move by a broadband company to sell off its alarm monitoring business is helping Beltsville, Md.-based integrator Alarm Security Group (ASG) LLC expand its reach in Texas. Eagle Broadband has sold its D.S.S. Security Inc. subsidiary to ASG for $1.5 million.
Eagle says it is getting out of the alarm monitoring business to concentrate on its core IP communications business. Most of the accounts being purchased by ASG cover the Houston market.
Tri-Ed Adds TOA Products to Its Portfolio
Electronic security distributor Tri-Ed has added manufacturer TOA Electronics Inc. to its vendors list. Tri-Ed will immediately begin offering TOA’s audio and security intercom products.
TOA is marking its first year since the Japan-based manufacturer launched its security products in the United States.

Samsung360° Opens Up Order Fulfillment Center
Samsung360°, the new North American distributor for Samsung Techwin video and CCTV products, has opened up an order fulfillment center in Denver.
Managed by Advanced Digital Solutions Inc., Samsung360° says the new fulfillment center will enhance customer service and decrease order turnaround time. The center uses a proprietary IT system to keep an accurate and up-to-date management of inventory.
