Consumer Electronics Distributors Celebrates Silver Anniversary at Fall Ball Event

The wholesale distributor of high-end electronics brought together manufacturers and dealers to discuss the latest products and trends in automation, security and A/V categories.

NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Consumer Electronics Distributors (C.E.D.), member of the PowerHouse Alliance and regional distributor of consumer and specialty electronics, celebrated its 25th year in business with the largest attendance to its annual Fall Ball event series.

This year, more than 35 vendors and over 250 dealers from the Chicago metropolitan market and broader Midwest area turned up for raffles, special deals, training and demonstrations from manufacturers on products fresh from CEDIA.

C.E.D.’s Fall Ball events offer the opportunity for manufacturers and dealers to discuss the latest products and upcoming trends with demonstrations for automation, security, and audio video categories. The events started in 1999, and have continually grown across C.E.D.’s three locations, supporting its successful 25 years in business. This year, the most vendors and dealers attended in the series thus far, with 250 local dealer companies attending and new products from vendors eero, Lutron, KEF, Nest, Legrand, LG, Sanus, Samsung, Optoma, MantelMount and JVC.

“Being successful in this industry for as many years as we have is a testament to our team, and the great relationships we have with our dealers,” says C.E.D. President Avery Baron. “Thanks to all who celebrated with us at our events this year, and to those who support us year-round.”

“For our customers, the usual business day can be pretty hectic,” said Mike Baginski, C.E.D. vice president. “The Fall Ball brings a a fun, casual, and relaxed environment where they can learn from our vendors about the latest trends in the custom integration categories.”

The Fall Ball events carried the tradition of raffles and prizes, with three lucky winners. Security and Sound’s Phil Otto won a Yuneec Q5004K drone, and Dennis Sabelko from Apple River TV and Glen Zemlocks from ZEMS won a Samsung 55-Inch 4K UHD TV.

“My first Fall Ball was a great success. I was able to sit down and talk to my rep and discuss my business and what is happening. I had great conversation with all of them. It was a great day setup very well to flow through and talk to vendors and other resellers also,” says Robert Lockwood, president of P.C. Tech 2U of Machesney Park, Ill.

“I was so impressed with the Fall Ball. The training sessions were packed with information relevant to fostering my relationships with my customers. The event was great on its own merits, but the prizes, food, and door specials were a nice bonus.” – Lanny Walker, owner of Dakota PC Warehouse in Vermillion, S.D.
